How to cancel Amazon Prime (2026)

Verified steps for web and app, the refund policy, the trap to avoid, and a free script that gets you through.

Where to cancel (website)

Go to Account & Lists > Prime Membership > Manage Membership > End Membership and Benefits > Continue to Cancel > Cancel My Benefits.

If you subscribed in an app

If billed through Apple or Google, cancel in the App Store (Settings > Subscriptions) or Google Play (profile > Payments & subscriptions). Otherwise cancel directly on Amazon.

Refund policy

Full refund if no benefits used (or cancelled within 3 business days of signup/trial conversion). Annual members get a prorated refund minus the value of benefits used; monthly members keep access to the billing date but get no refund.

Watch out

The #1 trap: The flow buries the real exit: the 'Continue to Cancel' link is small while 'Keep My Benefits' is the big button, and you must click through several confirmation screens.

Their retention trick

No cash discount — Amazon uses a multi-step interstitial emphasizing the benefits you'll lose, plus a prominent 'Keep My Benefits' button, to stall you.
